Mike Eason,
Managing Director

Mike Eason has a decade of experience in R&D management delivering innovation and leading high performance R&D teams. He has a Ph.D. in the development and application of advanced polymer materials from Warwick University. His experience spans from initial technology idea generation, technology partnering, licence deal brokering all the way through to final commercialisation and product launch. Mike worked for Unilever for 7 years where he set up and led their Polymer research group and ran product development for various brands including Comfort. Subsequently Mike worked for Reckitt Benckiser for 3 years, initially as an external technology scout/broker and latterly as product innovation manager for Veet. Mike joined Oxford Advanced Surfaces in Dec 2008 as Chief Technology Officer.

Philip Spinks
Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary

Philip joined the Board on 27 February 2008. He worked as an accountant at Brooking, Knowles & Lawrence (now part of TENON Plc) and Coopers & Lybrand before joining The BOC Group Plc in 1997. In his 10 years at BOC, Philip held a number of senior finance roles in the UK and Germany, including divisional finance director and global controller after the acquisition by The Linde Group AG. He is a Chartered Accountant and associate of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Mike Edwards,
Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

Mike has a wealth of experience in sales, marketing and business development with major blue-chip companies in multiple technologies from semiconductors to materials. Mike worked for Toshiba Corporation in various senior EMEA roles for 15 years after a period of engineering design, and subsequently with a number of start-up companies developing, launching and growing new products in global roles. Mike holds a BSc (Honours) degree in Electronics from UWIST, Cardiff and an MBA. His experience in Corporate and start-up companies ensures that our engagements with our customers are insightful and beneficial to both parties.

Scientific Advisory Board

Dr Mark Moloney,
Chairman

Dr Mark Moloney, one of the founders, provides technical counsel on a consultancy basis and is chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board. Mark is an internationally recognised lecturer in organic chemistry at Oxford University where he was appointed in 1990, and he was promoted to Reader in Chemistry in 2006. Mark has over 115 publications, including research articles, books and patents, and has been involved in organic synthesis research for twenty-five years. His main areas of interest are the synthesis of chemical compounds with antibiotic, cytotoxic or neuroexcitatory activity; the development of new chemical methodology and the surface modification of polymers. Much of Mark's research work has been conducted in collaboration with industry, including GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, Merck, Sharp and Dohme and Associated Octel.
