Job Opportunity: Business Development Executive

OAS is looking for a full-time business developer to help drive sales into specific target market sectors within the UK and internationally.  Working closely with the senior Business Development Executive and a small team of technical specialists, the postholder will identify and build B2B relationships with key industry players, understanding their problems and needs.  These are highly technical sales, requiring input by the whole team to succeed; candidates must therefore demonstrate excellent collaboration skills.

A small, exciting and growing company, we are a niche manufacturer of specialist coatings for advanced materials based in Oxford, developing its business in areas such as sporting goods, transport, automotive, defence and aerospace. The environment is fast-paced with flexibility and versatility necessary to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.  The postholder will promote the company’s range of products through specification, presentation and events, travelling within the UK and abroad.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2-3 years experience in technical sales is essential
  • A moderate technical knowledge of and experience in the materials/composites industry.  An engineering background would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to grasp technical data and applications quickly is essential.
  • Excellent and proven organisational and administration skills in a sales setting
  • Good written communication skills with a strong eye for detail
  • Strong relational and interpersonal skills both outside and inside the company
  • A self-starter with a high level of initiative and self-motivation
